Remember Breaker High? The 90s gem about a high school on a cruise ship (because why not)? It had drama, comedy, questionable fashion choices, and introduced us to a cast of quirky characters we loved—or loved to cringe at.

In honor of our new Breaker High collection we decided to see what happened to the stars of this nautical teen masterpiece? Let’s dive into where they are now, because who doesn’t love a good nostalgia trip with a side of “Oh, that’s what they’re doing!”

Ryan Gosling (Sean Hanlon)

The awkward class clown turned global heartthrob. Ryan Gosling went from cracking jokes in Hawaiian shirts to breaking hearts in The Notebook. Now, he’s one of Hollywood’s biggest stars with roles in La La Land, Blade Runner 2049, and Barbie (Kenough said). He also plays jazz piano, makes weird indie music, and is married to Eva Mendes—because of course, he is.

Tyler Labine (Jimmy Farrell)

Jimmy was the goofy, lovable best friend, and Tyler Labine has kept those vibes going in his career. You’ve probably seen him in Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, New Amsterdam, or Deadbeat. He’s still making us laugh, and honestly, we’re grateful.

Terri Conn (Ashley Dupree)

The queen bee of the ship, Ashley had a lot of big hair energy. After Breaker High, Terri Conn pivoted to soap operas, with major roles in As the World Turns and One Life to Live. She’s also a mom, host, and all-around fabulous human.

Wendi Kenya (Denise Williams)

Denise brought sass and smarts to the cruise ship classroom. Wendi Kenya stepped back from acting after Breaker High, but she’s remained a mystery in the best way possible. Denise would approve of her low-key, enigmatic energy.

Persia White (Denelle Wilkinson)

Persia White went from the ship to being a star on Girlfriends, one of the most iconic sitcoms of the 2000s. She’s also a talented musician and an activist. Plus, she married Joseph Morgan (The Originals)—talk about a power couple.

Kyle Alisharan (Alex Pineda)

Alex, the sensitive artist of the group, was a fan favorite. Kyle Alisharan left acting and now works in finance. No word on whether he still sketches in his free time, but we like to imagine he’s doodling stock charts.

Scott Vickaryous (Max Ballard)

Max was the quintessential “jock with a heart.” After Breaker High, Scott Vickaryous popped up in shows like Mutant X and Higher Ground. He’s now living a quieter life, away from the Hollywood spotlight.

Rachel Wilson (Tamira Goldstein)

Tamira was the quirky one (and low-key our style inspo with those wild prints). Rachel Wilson has kept busy with roles in The Glass House, Republic of Doyle, and tons of voice work. Fun fact: She voiced Heather in the Total Drama series!

Rachael Lillis (Cassidy Cartwright)

Rachael Lillis left Breaker High to focus on her first love: voice acting. If you watched Pokémon, you’ll recognize her as Misty (yes, that Misty). She’s lent her voice to countless animated shows and video games since.

Rian McCririck (Various Roles)

Rian McCririck, who often played supporting roles on Breaker High, transitioned to working behind the scenes in the entertainment industry. He’s been involved in production and is still part of the creative world.

Where’s the Ship?

Okay, we don’t know what happened to the Breaker High cruise ship, but let’s hope it’s docked somewhere fabulous and not, like, rusting in a scrapyard.

What Did We Learn?
The stars of Breaker High have gone on to do some seriously cool things. Whether they stayed in Hollywood or found new paths, they all left a lasting impression on our 90s-loving hearts. Now excuse us while we rewatch the series and wonder why our high school didn’t come with a pool deck.
